Italy is a country generating a vast array of fine foods. Delicious edibles are produced in both systems: at an industrial as well as at a domestic level. The sunny climate supports this abundance. Sicily is a large island whose typical products have a widespread reputation. OREGANO [see above] is an important culinary herb, typical of the Mediterranean region. Oregano is often used in tomato sauces, fried vegetables, and grilled meat and it is commonly associated with Pizza. Its dried leaves enrich the dishes with an aromatic enjoyable taste. We have listed also Oregano produced in China. Origano is not only used in the Mediterranean area, but also in West Asia. Everywhere produced, the tasty Oregano dried leaves have a recognized health effect. It is proved its antimicrobical activity ![]() Among herbs, we have not only Oregano [see above] but also Ginkgo [under]. It is essentially used for a culinary use in Japan and in the Zhejiang province of China, but somene consider it to have aphrodisiac qualities.
